The Best Luxury Hotels in Montenegro

Luxury hotels in Montenegro are refined and opulent, often located in charming towns and villages. This allows you to never forget the culture and heritage of where you are. These are the best luxury hotels in Montenegro, perfect for your honeymoon or luxurious weekend away!

Hotel Conte

Hotel Conte is made up of four 18th-century stone buildings on the seafront promenade in Perast, overlooking Kotor Bay. It is welcoming and blissfully restful, with 34 rooms, suites and apartments, making it ideal for couples or families, plus an excellent restaurant with a waterside terrace. Located in the peaceful village of Perast, noted for its Baroque stone villas, dating from the Venetian period (1420-1797).

Opposite Perast, across the water, rise the much-photographed twin islets of Our Lady of the Rocks and St George, each capped by a church (accessible by boat from the stone quay in front of Hotel Conte). There are several bathing areas within walking distance of the hotel. Perast lies eight miles (12 km) from Kotor (served by bus), in a sheltered position in Kotor Bay, which is surrounded by rugged mountains. The nearest airports are Tivat (12 miles/19 km) and Dubrovnik (35 miles/56 km).

The staff is welcoming, enthusiastic and highly professional, and full of advice about things to see and do. The hotel offers boat transfers to the nearby Our Lady of the Rocks islet, as well as excursions, including a speed boat tour of Kotor Bay, a day with a local fisherman, an inland wine tasting trip, and rafting down the Tara Canyon. Conte makes a stunning venue for weddings and can organize everything from the marriage ceremony to the reception, accommodation, and transfers.

Hotel Palazzo Radomiri

A romantic boutique hotel in an 18th-century Baroque stone building, overlooking the Bay of Kotor. With 10 rooms and a leafy courtyard restaurant, it makes a blissful retreat for couples and honeymooners. Facilities include a stone quay for bathing, an outdoor pool, a small spa, and yoga classes.

In the village of Dobrota, overlooking the Bay of Kotor, a pleasant waterside stroll (two and a half miles) from Kotor’s lovely Old Town, which is a Unesco world heritage site. For centuries a charming village of noble stone villas, Dobrota has expanded in recent years, with modern hillside construction and apartments to let. Rimmed by soaring limestone mountains, the Bay of Kotor is often referred to as ‘Europe’s most southerly fjord’. Laced by rock-and-pebble coves, the sea here is clean – you can swim from a stone quay, in front of the hotel. The nearest airports are Tivat (seven miles), Podgorica (50 miles), and Dubrovnik (41 miles).

Hotel Chedi Lustica Bay

Iberostar Perast 1024x682 1

One of the newest comers to the scene is The Chedi at Lustica Bay. While much of Southern Montenegro has been developed, this area is one of the newest. When I visited the hotel was still being built and there were very few guests. Even the port dock had only a handful of yachts, though I’m sure this will become popular soon. The hotel is part of the Leading Luxury Hotels in the World.

Boutique Hotel La Roche

Wake up to the scent of the sea at this bijou hotel, which sits beside the Adriatic in Tivat. It has a small, friendly feel with just nine guestrooms, all beautifully decorated in shades of cream and blue. Watch the sunset over Boka Bay from the rooftop pool, or with a cocktail at the beach bar. Learn about local tipples in the wine room, or head straight to La Pirogue for a casual dinner of grilled fish.
