2021 Audi TT Review – The most iconic entry-level sports car

One of the most iconic entry-level sports cars, the Audi TT will be available for 2021, albeit with some minor changes. The 2021 TT family has been updated to feature newly standard equipment as well as a refreshed color program. Available in coupe and convertible forms, both cars carry forward the 228 hp turbocharged four-pot along with a 7-speed DCT and Quattro all-wheel-drive. With the release date set for Early 2021, the 2021 Audi TT coupe price starts at an MSRP of $49,800, whereas the 394 hp 2021 Audi TT RS, which does the 0-60 MPH run in 3.6 seconds, starts from an MSRP of $72,500. Let’s review the 2021 Audi TT with Bigguidess!

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

Both the TT and TTS provide cabins that are temples of chic minimalism. The design is graceful and contemporary, and premium materials are used throughout. The front seats offer more comfort than you’d expect from a small sports car. Technically, this coupe model seats four, but the cramped rear seat is best left for luggage and grocery bags. There’s also dearth of storage nooks within the cabin. The convertible variant of this Audi provides 8 cubic feet of cargo space, while the coupe offers 12 cubic feet.

Interior Colors and Materials

As standard, the TT features black Fine Nappa leather contrasted by Alcantara and smatterings of aluminum. If you want a more luxurious feel in the cabin, diamond-stitched black leather with black stitching can be equipped for $1,250, while the same design with Palomino Brown leather and stitching is also on offer for the same price. Rock Gray stitching with black leather is also available with the quilted look, but this costs $2,200. Fortunately, the 2021 TT offers more leather throughout the cabin as standard than before, so any option will look fantastic. In terms of the decorative inlays on offer, it’s more aluminum here, with a carbon-weave design called Aluminum Drift provided as standard while brushed aluminum costs the same as the top upholstery option.

 2021 Audi TT’s Exterior Styling

The 2021 TT’s design and style continue with its Singleframe grille, sharp intersecting body lines, dual exhaust outlets, and an adaptive rear spoiler that completes the sports car aesthetics. However, you can now buy Audi TT in a few new colors, including Chronos Grey and Navarra Blue, which are now offered for both the TT and TTS.

All-LED exterior lighting continues as the predecessor while the TT’s 18-inch wheels are now wrapped with all-season tires. Optional 19s come wrapped in summer tires. In terms of dimensions, the 2021 TT 2-door coupe is the smallest amongst the rival cars. Audi TT rides over a 98.6-inch wheelbase while the C-class coupe has the longest wheelbase, rated at 111.8 inches.

The width and height of the TT are still competitive while ground clearance is average. At 4.4 inches, TT’s ground clearance is more than that of C300. However, one positive point of those dimensions being that the car is very agile and extremely maneuverable, but on the other hand, that reduces the interior space. The 2021 Audi TT model brings more refinement, some exterior features present on the coupe include:

  • Rain/ light-sensing automatic wipers and headlights
  • Dual exhaust outlets
  • Adaptive rear spoiler
  • Integrated LED turn indicator

Safety Features of the 2021 Audi TT

The 2021 Audi TT has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Though Audi’s TT comes with adequate standard active and passive safety features, it skimps advanced driver-assist technologies such as forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, or drowsy-driver monitoring. The 2021 Audi TT features eight airbags, a front and rear parking system, cruise control, and an integrated rearview camera as standard. The TT’s closest competitors have more standard and optional safety technology. The safety features of the 2021 Audi TT are:

  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Anti-lock braking system
  • Electronic stability control
  • Electromechanical parking brake
  • Anti-theft alarm with immobilizer
  • LATCH child seat anchors in rear seats

Infotainment and Connectivity

Many of the TT’s previously optional connectivity features are newly standard for 2021, including navigation, a premium audio system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Interestingly, the TT does without a central display screen or touchscreen, instead of displaying infotainment functions in the digital gauge cluster in front of the driver. Most of these functions are controlled by buttons on the steering wheel.
